With a suitable floor, Air casters offer a near frictionless way to move machines, production tooling and
other heavy objects. A wafer-thin air film causes the weight to float, after which you can move it with
one thousandth of the resistance. This means that you need 1 kg of force to move 1.000 kg of weight. A
modular Air caster system contains everything you need to get started with Air casters, making it the most

An advantage of Air casters is that very little free space is needed to move a machine. If an Air
caster can be integrated under the machine, often only 10 mm free space is necessary. Even if there is
a need to slide a complete module underneath the object to be moved, only one inch of space is needed
in many cases. If you want to use Air casters for multiple setups, but do not want to integrate the
casters, it can be hard to reach the Air caster locations under the machine or seating stands.
Aerofilm has developed an Air caster plank system for this purpose.
This system consists of at least two Air planks. Each plank has two integrated Air casters.
By sliding the Air plank under the machine, the Air casters can also be positioned at places that
would otherwise be difficult or impossible to access. The Air planks are available in different sizes.
The width is equal to the diameter of the caster and can then be supplied in any desired length. The
principle of the Air plank can be used with any caster type. The length of the plank depends on the
weight to be moved. If the standard width or thickness is not suitable for your transport issue, our

Safety is a priority in every production environment. When moving with an Air pallet there is a
safety lever that opens the air supply. When let go, the supply will close and interrupt the air
film. The Air casters will deflate, and the cargo will immediately stop moving, slowly landing back
on the ground. This makes movements with Air casters extremely safe.
A standard pallet truck has a capacity of approximately 1.500 kg. With Air casters, an Aerofilm Air
pallet can easily handle a capacity of up to 5.000 kg manually. With a drive, 20.000 kg is possible.
This makes the Air pallet not only an alternative to pallet trucks, but also a serious and often
cheaper alternative than a forklift.

Air casters have no limitations in capacity, whether you want to move a 500 kg roll of tissue
paper, or a subsea 500.000 kg power cable. We have a standard solution for rolls up to 10.000 kg.
It is available in different sizes, both in length and roll diameter. Depending on your situation,

It is important that the drive you choose has enough power to guarantee the mass can be stopped quickly. In addition to the mass, the moving speed and any slope in the floor are also variables to consider when choosing a drive. Our experts can help you find the right one.
You may already have an external solution available. A forklift or pull tugger can be a great solution as an external drive. Especially if the turning circle and the accuracy (and availability) are sufficient. If your forklift cannot reach the end location because it is not accessible or due to gas emissions, an air tugger is an excellent solution. This drive is connected to the frame or object to be moved with a tow bar that allows you to move, control and position the mass accurately. The air tugger works completely pneumatically.
