There is an Air caster for every moving situation. The neoprene Air casters are the industry standard.
With good reason. The compact design makes this caster easy to carry. It can easily be added to a
modular system or permanently attached under an installation. The light weight allows one person to
change it easily and quickly. The casters are designed in such a way that a higher air pressure can be
applied. The result is a capacity per caster up to four times higher than polyurethane Air casters.
Most manufacturers and suppliers sell neoprene casters. Our portfolio of neoprene products often the
same tech specifications, often at lower prices. For more information, look at our Air caster spare
parts and replacement page.

Is a machine or module being moved more often? Then it can make sense to mount Air casters
permanently under the machine or module. Aerofilm Polyurethane Air casters have been a proven
technology for this for decades. Our Air casters are ideal for fixed mounting under a machine, module
or other weight. This is due to its wear-free character and low air consumption. They are designed for
very intensive use and can be used 24/7. When used correctly, the casters can last for years.
These casters have a capacity up to 10.000 kg per caster. There are also variants that can move very
low weights, of tens of kilos. These Air casters are easy to adjust, have a relatively low lift and
offer the possibility to move sensitive equipment very stable and vibration-free.

To work with Air casters 2 main things are important. Sufficient compressed air must be available.
In addition, the floor must be flat and airtight so that the cushion can settle against the floor
before an air film is created. Sometimes there are small cracks or joints in the floor, so that the
air film is not retained with a normal Air caster. This can make further movement very difficult.
Because the Aerofilm gap crosser distributes the air discharge over several holes, small cracks,
crevices and joints can easily be overcome.

Neoprene
casters have higher capacity and can lift items higher than polyurethane
casters. There are several ways to achieve extra lift.
If the Air casters are part of a transporter, an extra lift can be realized by using a
lifting bag . This lifting Air caster is inflated and used as an actuator to create an extra lift
in the system. The advantage of this solution is that both the Air casters and the lifting bags
can operate separately from each other, so the lift can also be maintained when the Air caster is
switched off.
If an additional lift is required (ie: more than a standard neoprene caster can handle) but there
is no space available to build in a separate actuator, high-lift Air casters are an excellent
option. This is more advantageous because only one caster is needed, and no additional actuator
needs to be purchased to create the extra lift. The further operation of the Air caster is equal
to that of the neoprene caster. A high-lift caster can also be combined with standard solutions
such as a modular system, air planks or air pallets.

One of the most difficult places to move machines, parts or other heavy objects is a cleanroom.
Ordinary wheels can leave grease behind or add particles into the room. Our cleanroom Air casters
have been used for years by leading high-tech companies and in the pharmaceutical industry. To
minimize the risk of contamination, we have further optimized this caster for critical
environments.
